SYMPTOMS
When a computer that is running an Itanium-based version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 stops unexpectedly because of a Stop error, debugging information may not be written to a memory dump file (Memory.dmp).
Note A Stop error is also known as a “blue screen,” a “system crash,” or a “bug check.”
RESOLUTION
Service pack information

Hotfix information
Note Because this hotfix replaces the Windows kernel (Ntkrnlmp.exe), this hotfix may override previous Windows kernel replacements.
Prerequisites
To apply this hotfix, you must have Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed on the computer.
Restart requirement
You must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
