SYMPTOMS

When you run the Taskkill.exe utility to end a service process in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the service process is not ended as expected. For example, this behavior occurs when you run the following command line at a command prompt:

Taskkill /F /FI "SERVICES eq <Service_name>"


Note The <Service_name> placeholder represents the name of the service that you want to end.

Additionally, you do not receive an error message in this situation.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

STATUS
