SYMPTOMS
When you log off a Terminal Services session on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based Terminal Server, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
- A font object is not correctly installed on the Windows Server 2003 SP1-based Terminal Server.
- You remove the font object.
- The associated data of the font object is not removed from the computer's memory.
- A memory leak occurs. This memory leak causes the computer to generate the error message.
RESOLUTION
Service pack information

Hotfix information
This hotfix is replaced by hotfix 910362.
Prerequisites
To apply this hotfix to Itanium-based versions of Windows Server 2003 or to x86-based versions of Windows Server 2003, you must have Windows Server 2003 SP1 installed on your computer.
Restart requirement
You must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, remove Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) from the computer.
Important Do not complete this workaround if you require the functionality that Windows Server 2003 SP1 provides.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2.
