WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods.

Method 1: View TIFF files in another view

Do not view TIFF files in the Details view. Instead, use the Thumbnails view, the Tiles view, the Icons view or the List view.

Method 2: View the TIFF files on another computer

  1. Share the folder that hosts the TIFF files on the network.
  2. Use the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path of the folder to open it on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP.

A UNC path resembles the following:

    \\Server_Name\Share_Name

Server_Name represents the name of the computer. Share_Name represents the name of the shared folder.
  3. View the TIFF files in the Details view.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2.
