SYMPTOMS
You may experience one or both of the following symptoms:
- A custom Windows service that calls the Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 Managed Provider for DB2 suddenly stops without an error message or entries in the event log.
- When you use the Host Integration Server 2004 Managed Provider for DB2 in a client application, you intermittently receive an "Internal network library" error message.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because intermittent heap corruption occurs. This corruption is caused by a timing issue in the Host Integration Server 2004 Managed Provider for DB2.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.

When you use the Host Integration Server 2004 Managed Provider for DB2 with a Microsoft ASP.NET client application, you receive an error message most frequently when the following conditions are true, in the order in which they are presented:
- You successfully run the ASP.NET client application several times.
