Known issues

  • After you install this update, you cannot open Microsoft Publisher 2.0 publications in Publisher 2000. If you try to open a Publisher 2.0 publication in Publisher 2000, you receive the following error message:

    Publisher cannot open this file. This file was saved from a previous version of Publisher. Publisher no longer supports files that were saved in this version.

  • If you do not have Publisher 2000 installed, Microsoft Update or Office Update may still offer this update. For more information about why Microsoft Update or Office Update may offer this update, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  • After you install this update, you cannot copy and paste content between separate instances of Publisher 2000. If you copy content from one instance of Publisher 2000 and then switch to a separate instance of Publisher 2000, the Paste command will be unavailable (dimmed) as if there is nothing on the clipboard.

Removal information

After you install this update, you cannot remove the update. To revert to an earlier installation of Publisher 2000, remove Publisher 2000. Then, reinstall Publisher 2000 by using the original CD.
