SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 together with Microsoft SQL Server, the SQL Server process may generate an access violation error. The error message that you receive may vary. However, the module that is mentioned in the error message is typically Mseidrda.dll.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because OLE DB Provider for DB2 creates a memory leak. (The provider continues to allocate memory without releasing memory.) Therefore, the SQL Server process runs out of memory and generates an access violation.
