MORE INFORMATION
The following factors are guidelines for time-critical programs:
- The sort operation must occur in memory and must contain at least one million rows. Typically, 120 million or more rows are required to experience the problem.
- The computer must be able to support a very large sort memory grant. This grant is generally 8 gigabytes (GB) or larger. To accomplish this grant, the computer needs approximately 64 GB or more of physical memory.
Note Processor speed, memory, and disk speed can cause factors to vary.
