SUMMARY

Microsoft distributes SQL Server 2000 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2000 fix release.

SUMMARY

This article describes the following about this hotfix release:

  • The issues that are fixed by this hotfix package.
  • The prerequisites for installing the hotfix package.
  • Whether you must restart your computer after you install the hotfix package.
  • Whether the hotfix package is replaced by any other hotfix package.
  • Whether you must make any registry changes.
  • The files that are contained in the hotfix package.

Introduction

Issues that are fixed by this hotfix package

When you call the Decision Support Object (DSO) Process(ProcessSuspendLazyProcessing) method on a MDStore object, lazy processing does not suspend its operation as expected and you may experience data corruption issues.

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

  • You defined a partition as a remote partition.
  • The partition that you defined is located on a secondary Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services-based computer.
  • Lazy processing is running on the secondary SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services-based computer.

Note When you incrementally update a cube, you must call the DSO Process(ProcessSuspendLazyProcessing) method to pause the lazy processing of indexes and aggregations of all the partitions in a database. You must use this method to help prevent data loss during the merge step of the incremental processing operation.

Note The ProcessTypes ProcessSuspendLazyProcessing and ProcessResumeLazyProcessing enumerations are not documented. The ProcessSuspendLazyProcessing enum value is 106, and the ProcessResumeLazyProcessing enum value is 107.
