A camcorder may be unexpectedly recognized as an audio device in Windows XP

SYMPTOMS

When you add your camcorder to the device list under Bluetooth Devices in Control Panel, the device may be unexpectedly categorized as an audio device.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the camcorder reports that it features audio as a major function.

This issue may specifically occur when you connect a Sony MiniDV Handycam DCR-TRV80 camcorder to your computer. However, this issue may also occur with any device that reports audio as one of its major functions.

RESOLUTION

No additional action is required. This issue does not affect the operation of the device.
