SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services, the size of the Reporting Services trace log file for the Report Server Windows service and the Web service may increase unexpectedly. Additionally, messages that are similar to the following may be logged in the Reporting Services trace log file repeatedly:

ReportingServicesService!dbcleanup!adc!7/2/2004-08:55:20:: i INFO: Cleaned 0 broken snapshots, 0 chunks

ReportingServicesService!runningjobs!adc!7/2/2004-08:55:20:: i INFO: Execution Log Entry Expiration
timer enabled: Cycle: 61479 seconds

ReportingServicesService!dbcleanup!614!7/2/2004-08:55:20:: i INFO: Expiring old execution log entries

ReportingServicesService!dbcleanup!614!7/2/2004-08:55:20:: i INFO: Expiration of old execution log
entries is complete. Removed 0 entries.

ReportingServicesService!dbcleanup!614!7/2/2004-08:55:20:: i INFO: Cleaned 0 broken snapshots, 0 chunks

ReportingServicesService!runningjobs!614!7/2/2004-08:55:20:: i INFO: Execution Log Entry Expiration
timer enabled: Cycle: 61479 seconds

Hundreds or thousands of these messages may be written in the Reporting Services trace log file per second. This causes your disk space to be filled in a short time.

Note ReportServerService_<timestamp>.log is the Reporting Services trace log file for the Report Server Windows service and the Web service. By default, this file is located in the <Installation Drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\<Your_SQL_Server_Instance_name>\Reporting Services\LogFiles folder.
