SYMPTOMS

When a thin client device tries to obtain a Terminal Services license from a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based terminal server, the following Error event is logged in the Application log of the terminal server. Event Type: Error
Event Source: TermService
Event ID: 1004
Description: The terminal server cannot issue a client license.

Note This Error event is logged even if the terminal server has permanent client licenses available.

RESOLUTION
