SYMPTOMS
When you try to install a 32-bit program that uses Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) on your Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Enterprise Edition-based computer, the program may not install. Additionally, the 32-bit program that uses WMI may install, but the program may not work correctly.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the program that you try to install requires a registry subkey that is not present in Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Enterprise Edition. The following registry subkey is not present in the 32-bit registry in Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Enterprise Edition:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\WBEM\Build
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
