SYMPTOMS

When a SCSI miniport driver initializes on your computer, your computer may stop responding, and you may receive a Stop error in the Scsiport.sys file.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when you use a SCSI miniport driver and the following conditions are true:

  • The direct memory access (DMA) bus mastering configuration for the SCSI miniport driver is set as BusMaster=FALSE.
  • The SCSI miniport driver turns on support for Windows Management Instrumentation (WmiDataProvider = TRUE).
