SYMPTOMS
When you use the Microsoft Storport storage driver in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 in conjunction with a host bus adapter (HBA) Storport miniport, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- You receive a Bugcheck 0x7B error if you enable Physical Address Extension (PAE) on a Windows Server 2003 computer that uses a StorPort driver.
- When you initialize mapped buffers on a Physical Address Extension (PAE) 64-bit computer, some drives may appear to be missing. The miniport driver reports the incorrect number of logical unit numbers (LUNs), because the data buffer was not initialized to zero.
- When a storage array returns a "CHECK 0B/00/06 (Aborted Command - I/O Process Terminated)" error on a ReportLUN, the Storport.sys driver does not retry any commands to that array target. A ReportLUN is correctly returned when you perform a manual rescan.
- The LUNs for some disks are reported in reverse order during enumeration. The LUNs for some disks are not reported in the order they are discovered in by Plug and Play.
- Miniport drivers that run at half-duplex may not run at a higher device interrupt request level (DIRQL).
- A Windows Server 2003-based computer may stop responding (hang) when it fails over from the primary path of a fiber channel HBA to the secondary or redundant path on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 64-Bit Enterprise Edition-based computer.
