Microsoft SQL Server 2000 fixes are distributed as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included in the previous SQL Server 2000 fix release.
SYMPTOMS
If a computer that is running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services has a cube where real-time updates are enabled and an Analysis Services (Msmdsrv.exe) build between 8.00.0874 and 8.00.0918 is installed on the computer, Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) queries against the real-time cube may not reflect updates that are made to the relational table that serves as the source for the real-time data.
This problem was introduced in Analysis Services build 8.00.0874.

Hotfix information
The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

WORKAROUND
When this problem occurs, you can restore the real-time update functionality of the cube. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open Analysis Manager, and then connect to the computer that is hosting the real-time cube.
- Right-click the data source object that is used by the real-time cube, and then click Refresh.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4.
