Bug #: 470960 (SQL Server 8.0)

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 fixes are distributed as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2000 fix release.

SYMPTOMS

Under stress conditions, the CPU column in the sysprocesses system table contains a negative value for some processes that run on your instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The value of the CPU column in the sysprocesses system table indicates the cumulative processor time that is used by a process. The cumulative CPU time may also abnormally vary for a short time for some processes in the sysprocesses system table. This problem may occur for a short time immediately after the process is created. This problem may also occur for a short time just before the process ends.

Note The sysprocesses system table is stored in the master database of the instance of SQL Server.

RESOLUTION
