SYMPTOMS
After you install or upgrade to Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 or Windows Media Center Edition 2005, the version number that appears in the properties of My Computer is incorrect. The General tab displays "Version 2002".
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the upgrade to Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 or Windows Media Center Edition 2005 does not change the properties in My Computer.
WORKAROUND
To determine the version of Windows XP Media Center Edition that you are running, follow these steps:
- Start Media Center.
- On the Settings menu, click General.
- Scroll down, and then click About Media Center.
The version number of the application that you are running is displayed.
