APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Web Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition (32-bit x86)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition (32-bit x86)

SYMPTOMS

When you run the Disk Cleanup wizard (Cleanmgr.exe) at the command line on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer, you may experience the following symptoms:

  • If you type cleanmgr /sageset:1 and press ENTER, you receive the following message:

Disk Cleanup cannot clean up drive C.
Make sure that there is a disk in the drive, and that the drive door is closed.

However, you do not receive this message if you use the /d command-line option.
  • If you type cleanmgr /sageset:1 /d c: and press ENTER, the command appears to run correctly but does not create the required registry flags. Because the registry flags do not exist, the /sagerun command-line option does not work correctly.

These symptoms do not occur on computers that are running Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2000.
