Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issues are fixed in this hotfix package but were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • If you use Outlook 2002 with Microsoft Exchange Server, you may find that you cannot expand the public folder hierarchy in Outlook when the default public store on the server is not available. When you try expand the public folder hierarchy, you experience a delay where nothing occurs, and then you receive the following error message:

Unable to expand the folder. The set of folders could not be opened. The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.

  • When you write a custom program that uses the MAPI ConfigureMsgService( ) method to create and configure profiles, calls to the ConfigureMsgService( ) method leak a reference to the Component Object Model (COM) and you receive error messages that are similar to the following:

    HRESULT - 0x80010106
