CAUSE

This behavior occurs if either one of the following conditions is true:

  • You do not have permission to the Installer folder.
  • Your Microsoft Windows XP account is corrupted or is damaged.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use the following methods in the order that they appear.

  5. On the General tab, click to clear the Read-only check box.
  6. Click OK.

If you are prompted to confirm the attribute change, click Apply change to this folder, subfolders and files, and then click OK.
  7. Try to install the program.

    1. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    2. On the View tab, click to select the Show hidden files and folders check box.
    3. On the View tab, click to clear the Hide protected operating system files check box.
    4. Click OK.
  4. On the Security tab, verify that the Everyone group has read and write permissions.
  5. On the General tab, click to clear the Read-only check box.
  6. Click OK.

If you are prompted to confirm the attribute change, click Apply change to this folder, subfolders and files, and then click OK.
  7. Try to install the program.

If the behavior continues, go to the next method.
