SYMPTOMS

When you try to print from a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

  • When you print a reversed bitmap to a PostScript printer, the image does not print inside the region.
  • Access Violation in spoolsv.exe
  • When the Snaprint.exe program runs, the current printing thread stops printing. The printing thread can process up to 30 print jobs at the same time. When the print jobs stop, you may receive error messages that resemble the following:

    The GDI routine ExtTextOut has returned an error to the SNA Virtual Print Driver.
    Error returned: 0
    Print session: PRT03.
    Device context: 52495112.
    Job name: SNA Print Job on session PRT03 - Printing to file \\jeansevt\traces\soukehal\prt03
    Output file name (if re-directed to file): \\jeansevt\traces\soukehal\prt03
    Recovery action has to be performed in order to restart printing (from service restart, to system reboot)

    Event ID 19 may be logged in the Application log.
