You cannot see a graph or a spreadsheet when you view active HTML storage reports

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Internet Explorer from a client computer to view an active HTML storage report on a Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 network attached storage (NAS) appliance, you cannot see a graph or a spreadsheet in the active HTML storage report.

RESOLUTION

The hotfix that resolves this problem permits the graph or the spreadsheet to appear in the browser on the client computer. However, the report page that explains the graph data or the spreadsheet data still appears in English and not in the default language of the client computer.

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that this article describes. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

After you install this hotfix on the server, you must reinstall the Veritas Storage Manager 2.0 OCX for Server Appliances client on the client computer. The Storage Manager 2.0 OCX for Server Appliances client is distributed from the server that is running Windows Storage Server. To remove and then reinstall the Storage Manager 2.0 OCX for Server Appliances client, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Add or Remove Programs.
  3. In the list of currently installed programs, click Storage Manager 2.0 OCX for Server Appliances, and then click Remove.


The next time that you view an active HTML storage report, you are prompted to reinstall the Storage Manager 2.0 OCX for Server Appliances client.
