SYMPTOMS
If you rename a CD-ROM drive or another removable-media drive (for example, from the default drive D to drive H) in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, an administrative share for the new drive letter is created. A password is not required to access the CD-ROM drive after the drive letter has been changed, regardless of who tries to connect. Members of the Everyone group may have access to the drive. If you rename the drive back to its original drive letter, the problem is not corrected.
