Article ID: 830896

Article Last Modified on 11/18/2003

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 and create a workspace, you may find that Web pages in the workspace do not appear correctly. You may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Web Parts do not appear correctly in the workspace. Instead of the name of the Web Part, you receive the following error message:

    Invalid query

  • When users who are assigned the Coordinator role access a document in a document library, some actions that are listed in the Actions area of the Document Inspection page are unexpectedly missing. For example, the following actions are missing from the Actions area:
    • Delete
    • Rename
    • Check Out

You do not experience these symptoms when you access documents in the workspace by using Web Folders.

  • A file incompatibility exists that prevents certain portions of the Web pages from appearing correctly in the SharePoint Portal Server workspace.

Note Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 SP4 is included in Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8. This problem also occurs if you install Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 on a server that is also running SharePoint Portal Server.
