SYMPTOMS

When you use the Remote Shell (RSH) service in Microsoft Windows 2000 to connect a client computer to a host computer, your Remote Shell command may appear to stop responding and does not return to a command prompt.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the Remote Shell service is waiting for user input. For example, you may need to press ENTER.

RESOLUTION

You must stop and then restart the Remote Shell service after applying this hotfix.
