SYMPTOMS

When you try to install multiple programs that create values in the same registry subkey on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, only the first value is created. Subsequent values that are written to the same key by different Microsoft Windows Installer programs are not successfully written. This problem occurs on computers that are running Windows Server 2003 that have Terminal Server enabled. This problem does not occur on computers that are running Windows Server 2003 that do not have Terminal Server enabled. Also, the Windows Installer log file may indicate that the installation finished correctly and that the registry value is written when the installation does not finish correctly.

Note You create the Windows Installer log by using the /l*v option when you run the installation program at the command prompt.
