SYMPTOMS

Time stamps may not be synchronized correctly on a large Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP) computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if a program queries a Time Stamp Counter (TSC) in one processor for a time stamp, and the Task Scheduler service moves the program to another processor. When the program queries another processor's TSC, the time stamp information is not synchronized with the previous query to the other processor.
