SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), when you try to update refreshableenumerators (IWbemHiPerfEnum) on a remote Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer or on a remote Microsoft Windows XP-based computer for performance counters that contain multiple instances (for example, Win32_PerfRawData_PerfOS_Processor), you may receive the following WBEM_E_FAILED error message.
This error is the HRESULT return value from the IWbemRefresher::Refresh method. When this problem occurs, no instances are returned for the performance object.
