SYMPTOMS

When you create custom code that uses the get_ADsPath method to bind to a directory service object, the Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) path (ADsPath) that is returned for the object uses Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) format. The ADsPath of the object is in LDAP format even when you specify a different format.

For example, if you open a container by using the ADsGetObject function and you specify the path in X.500 format, the ADsPath of the objects in the container appears in LDAP format.
