SYMPTOMS
The 5-4.82a14 and 5-4.82a16 versions of the Cpqkgpsa.sys driver and the 8.2.0.72 and 8.2.0.73 versions of the hp2300.sys driver return incorrect Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) address information. The drivers return a device number of 0 instead of the correct value, and therefore, the storage agent reports slot number 255. In addition, the Hewlett-Packard Hot Plug utility cannot shut down PCI slots.
CAUSE
This problem is caused when the “totalsensedatabyte” string is added to the Cpqkgpsa.sys and hp2300.sys drivers to deliver extended sense data.
