SYMPTOMS
When you query the sysmembers virtual table, the query may fail with a stack overflow and SQL Server may quit if you have over 15,000 database users in the user database.

You may also experience this problem if you execute system stored procedures, such as sp_helpuser and sp_helplogins. These stored procedures query the sysmembers system table internally.
