SYMPTOMS

On a Windows 2000 Server computer that is running Terminal Services, you receive the following error message

STOP 0x000000C2 (0000007, 0000b8a, 8842bc40, 8842bc48)

and the computer stops responding.

CAUSE

This is caused by a lack of synchronization of the Channel table in ICAReferenceChannel and ICADereferenceChannel. As a result, the system tries to free the channel two times.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
