SYMPTOMS
You try to use a user-defined function as part of an MDX expression in the Allowed Members or Denied Members entry for dimension security in an Analysis Services role. However, when you try to close the Manage Roles dialog box, you may receive the following error message:
Note In this error message, cube
is the name of the cube that contains the role; dimension
is the name of the dimension whose security is defined by the user-defined function; role
is the name of the role that you edited; and MDX Expression
is the MDX Expression that contains the call to the user-defined function.
RESOLUTION
Service pack information

Hotfix information
The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4.
