SYMPTOMS

During the compilation time of queries that have large IN clause lists (with hundreds to thousands of values), SQL Server may not yield correctly. This causes increased concurrency issues such as blocking, or unresponsiveness. Because query compilation time is typically short compared to total query execution time, this behavior is difficult to detect.

RESOLUTION

Service pack information

Hotfix information

The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4.
