SYMPTOMS
You cannot configure Microsoft Windows XP to use Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) version 1 or version 2 host group memberships. You can configure Windows XP to use only IGMP version 3 host group memberships.

Configure the registry

After you apply this hotfix, you must configure the following Windows Registry key to enable the version of IGMP support that you want. Follow these steps, and then quit Registry Editor:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type IGMPVersion, and then press ENTER.
- On the Edit menu, click Modify.
- Type 3, and then click OK.

registry key takes the following values:
