APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Software Development Kit
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

SUMMARY

The Microsoft Exchange Development Kit (EDK) 5.5 is designed for Microsoft Exchange 5.5. We do not support the EDK 5.5 with any other versions of Microsoft Exchange Server, including Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. The EDK 5.5 has been archived. No more revisions will be made to the samples that the EDK 5.5 contains.

MORE INFORMATION

The EDK and the Software Development Kit (SDK) releases have been aligned with Microsoft Exchange Server releases. The EDK is the developer kit for Microsoft Exchange 5.5. The SDK for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server is targeted and supported with Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. The SDK for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 is targeted and supported with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

The EDK 5.5 is supported for development on Microsoft Exchange 5.5, but the EDK 5.5 is not supported for applications that you develop by using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. We recommended that you use the underlying MAPI functions instead of the EDK functions because the EDK 5.5 has been archived and the EDK 5.5 will not be revised.

For the underlying MAPI code for the EDK functions, see the EDK samples. The source code for all the EDK libraries is included with the Microsoft Exchange 5.5 SDK Final Version download.
