SYMPTOMS

When you try to send recognized text across a Remote Desktop connection from a Windows XP Tablet PC Edition-based computer to a Windows 2000-based server by using the Writing Pad, Write Anywhere, or Speech Dictation feature of the Tablet PC Input Panel, no text is sent. However, if you use the Input Panel's onscreen keyboard, the text is sent correctly.

CAUSE

This problem is caused by the way that Unicode input is handled by Windows 2000 over a Remote Desktop session.

STATUS
