SYMPTOMS
You cannot implement Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) client-side authentication on Windows 2000 because the callback that is defined in LDAP_OPT_CLIENT_CERTIFICATE is never called by the Windows 2000 version of Wldap32.dll.
The QUERYCLIENTCERT function is a client-side function that permits the server to request a certificate from the client when it is establishing an SSL connection.
CAUSE
The QUERYCLIENTCERT function does not make callbacks in the Windows 2000 version of Wldap32.dll.
The Microsoft Windows XP version of Wldap32.dll works correctly with QUERYCLIENTCERT calls.
