- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition
When the SQL Mail profile is configured to use a Microsoft Outlook 2000 client exchange MAPI
profile that is configured to a Microsoft Exchange 2000 mailbox, the xp_sendmail extended stored
procedure may not be succesful, and you receive the following error message:
This behavior may occur if the Exchange Server mailbox configured for the SQL Mail
profile is different from the default mailbox of the domain account that is used to start
the Microsoft SQL Server services.
To work around this problem, you can use either of the following solutions:
- Configure the SQL Mail profile to use the default mailbox of the domain account used
to start Microsoft SQL Server services.
- Configure the SQL Mail profile as an Internet mail server (Post Office Protocol 3 [POP3]) profile.
Warning: Unless you can guarantee100 percent connectivity
to your Internet mail server without having to reauthenticate your mail logon,
SQL Mail may stop responding. If SQL Mail stops responding, you have to
stop and restart SQL Server. Use of an Internet mail server is not a recommended
solution but may be the only alternative in some cases.
