SYMPTOMS

After you apply the security bulletin MS02-047 Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer (323759), if you try to view the results of a test, you may receive the following error message:

act.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x637bb64f" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

When you click OK, Application Center Test quits, but never displays the results.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 328592. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
