SUMMARY
When you choose Slide Show, Notes Pages, Notes Master, or Slide Sorter View in PowerPoint, the following message may be encountered:
Sorry, memory was too full to draw everything–some parts are not shown.
Some objects may indeed not be shown and also may not print. This error message is most likely to be encountered in slide presentations containing large bitmaps or objects that have been imported into PowerPoint and then duplicated numerous times.

The reason for this unexpected error message is that PowerPoint must duplicate each slide object in memory to display it in any mode other than slide view. Additionally, while an object that has been duplicated in a PowerPoint slide must be rendered only once in memory to display the slide, the object must be rendered once per occurrence in the slide to display in any other mode.
For example, if a 20K graphic is imported into a PowerPoint slide and then duplicated 10 times, the file size for the presentation remains at approximately 20K. This is because PowerPoint remembers that all 10 objects were created from the same original object, and therefore, only has to store the data for that object once. However, if the Notes Page for that slide is then viewed, the 20K object must be re-created in memory 10 times to display. While this is taking place, PowerPoint is also calculating the amount of memory available. Under such circumstances, the “memory full” error message is much more likely.
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
