Line Spacing with Condensed Print in Multiplan 4.00 and 4.01 PSS ID Number: Q58743 Article last modified on 06-11-1990 PSS database name: D_MPlan

4.00 4.01

MS-DOS

Summary:

The printer drivers supplied with Multiplan 4.00 or 4.01 allow line spacing of only 6 lines per inch. If you use versions of Multiplan earlier than 4.20, you may be able to select “condensed” on your printer or insert a printer control sequence for condensed print in the Print Options Setup field and get line spacing of more than 6 lines per inch.

The following are two solutions to this problem with Multiplan Versions 4.00 and 4.01:

  1. Upgrade to Multiplan 4.20, which utilizes the line spacing label in the PRD font description table. The PRD files shipped with Multiplan contain values in the field that correspond to the size of the font. To further control line spacing, you can use the MAKEPRD program to modify this field to adjust the line spacing. There is no option to control line spacing in the Multiplan program itself.
  2. Select the text option in Print Setup Printer, and control the font selection from the printer or insert a control code into the first cell of the print area. This second method requires adjustment of the margin settings.
