The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft COBOL for MS-DOS, versions 3.0 and 3.0a

Summary: It has been reported that COBOL programs created with Microsoft COBOL Compiler Version 3.0 or 3.0a hang on workstations in a LANtastic Adapter Independent Network Version 2.37G when ADIS and IXSIO are dynamically linked (in EXE form with ADIS.EXE and IXSIO.EXE). The programs run correctly when ADIS and IXSIO are statically linked (by specifying the .OBJ modules on the LINK command). Microsoft has not confirmed this information. Microsoft COBOL Compiler Versions 3.0 and 3.0a for MS-DOS and OS/2 have only been tested with IBM PC-NET and other MS-NET compatibles. Problems with other networks will be examined on a case-by-case basis. The specific network information for the reported problem is as follows: Network: LANtastic Adapter Independent Network Version 2.37G Net cards: Tiara LanCard /E-AT 16-bit Fujitsu chip set Net BIOS: by Micro Computer Systems of Irving, Texas
