SUMMARY

During a Microsoft Word print merge, if the last label in a page of labels on the main document ends with a <<NEXT>> statement, the label following it is skipped and will not be printed. This is because Word automatically goes to the next label when it goes to a new page during a print merge.

For example, suppose you have a 3-by-10-inch sheet of labels with the last line of every label containing a <<NEXT>> statement. When Word prints #30, it encounters the <<NEXT>>, which moves the record pointer to #31. However, since Word must move to a new page to continue printing, it automatically executes a <<NEXT>>. Therefore, the record pointer is at #32, the new page begins with #32, and #31 is not printed.
