SUMMARY

When using the Format Position command to position a paragraph or graphic at the top of a page, the preceding page may contain excessive white space at the bottom.

This is a limitation in the way Word versions 5.00 and 5.50 format pages containing positioned graphics and paragraphs.

If a positioned graphic or paragraph falls at a location in the file where Word needs to insert a page break, Word moves the graphic or paragraph and all text entered below it to the next page and finishes formatting the current page.

Word cannot take text appearing after the positioned paragraph or graphic and include it on the current page.
