File: Data in Field Is Truncated

Last reviewed: October 27, 1994
Article ID: Q58048

Summary:

If a field in Microsoft File appears to be cut off or missing part of its data, there may be another field positioned in the form such that it covers a portion of the data in the first field.

To check this possibility, do the following:

  1. If the form is not already showing, choose Show Form from the Form menu.
  2. Select the field that appears to be cut off.
  3. Drag the field to a blank spot in the form.
  4. Click the mouse on the data file window.
  5. Check to see if the field is still cut off.

If the field is still missing data or seems cut off, it may simply be that there is too much data to show in the field at the size given. To correct this problem, resize the field in the form window.
