SUMMARY
To access the print quality options from Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 3.0, 3.01, and 3.02, using the Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskWriter, hold down the SHIFT key while choosing Print from the File menu.
This is necessary because Word versions 3.0x use their own built-in Print dialog box rather than that of the printer driver.
This problem is corrected in Word version 4.0.
