SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 3.0, 3.01, 3.02, 4.0, and 5.0, text files do not have built-in margins – you can choose the margins you want to use in DocuComp before printing or saving the composite document.

Set margins by choosing Page Setup from the File menu. The default value of 1 inch for the top, bottom, left, and right margins should be satisfactory for most files. If you need to change the margins, move the insertion point to the number you want to change, and then edit it as needed.

The margin values in the Page Setup dialog box have no effect on the comparison of documents formatted with your word processing program. DocuComp uses the same margins that you used when you created the document.

For additional information, see page 25 of the “DocuComp Automatic Document Comparison Program” manual.
