SUMMARY
In versions 4.0 and 5.0 of Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, you can use the Copy Formats command (COMMAND+OPTION+V) to copy paragraph formats in a table from one paragraph in a cell to another paragraph in another cell. This command works properly only if the paragraph you want to copy from is located in the first cell in a row. (If the paragraph you want to copy from is not located in the first cell of a row, then the paragraph must first be copied to another location before you can use Copy Formats.)
To copy the paragraph formatting of a paragraph in one cell to a paragraph in another cell, do the following:
Select the cell that has the paragraph with the formatting you want to copy (make sure that this paragraph is in the first cell in a row). Select the whole cell (not just the text within the cell).
Press COMMAND+OPTION+V.
The words “Format To” will appear in the lower-left corner of the document window and the entire row of the table will be selected.
Select the text of the cell or paragraph where you want to copy the new formatting (a dotted line will appear under the text you select to be changed).
Press the RETURN key.

In addition to using the key combination COMMAND+OPTION+V to access the Copy Formats command, you can also access it through the Commands dialog box:
- In Word 4.0, you can access the Copy Formats command by choosing Commands from the Edit menu and selecting Copy Formats from the List in the Commands dialog box.
- In Word 5.0, you can access the Copy Formats command by choosing Commands from the Tools menu and selecting Copy Formats from the List in the Commands dialog box.
